Central Sacramento News: Shooting on Folsom Boulevard — Three Suspects Detained Near CVS and Trader Joe’s

Central Sacramento News — Late last night, a call came in over the police scanner reporting a shooting on the 4700 block of Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento. Lance The PI was monitoring the scanner, caught the initial call, and responded directly to the scene — staying on location for over two hours to bring you this Central Sacramento News coverage firsthand.

Initial scanner traffic indicated a person had been shot. Upon arrival, however, officers updated the call — no person was struck. A vehicle had been hit by gunfire. The suspects had already fled the scene and were reported to have entered a townhome complex located on the north side of Folsom Boulevard, directly adjacent to the CVS Pharmacy. Trader Joe’s sits across the street, making this a well-traveled stretch of Central Sacramento that residents know well.

From behind the crime scene tape, Lance The PI observed officers escort three individuals to patrol cars. All three suspects were women. Two were placed in handcuffs. The third — a woman wearing a bonnet and pajama pants and walking with a cane — was not handcuffed but was nonetheless detained and placed in the back of a police vehicle.

After being pushed back from his original position, Lance The PI moved on foot to maintain a clear line of sight on the investigation. From there, he observed Sacramento Police officers marking what appeared to be shell casings in the street on Folsom Boulevard, on the north side west of the townhouse complex. Officers initially marked the evidence locations using three-by-five index cards.

Crime Scene Investigation arrived shortly after. CSI replaced the field markers with plastic numbered evidence markers, then methodically photographed and collected the physical evidence from the roadway. Lance The PI documented the entire evidence collection process from start to finish.
