South Natomas News — Sacramento Police Department initiated a vehicle pursuit Thursday evening in South Natomas that ended with a suspect tackled on camera in the parking lot of the South Natomas Community Center and Library on Truxel Road. Lance The PI News was on scene and captured the foot chase and takedown live.
The pursuit began after officers initiated a stop near West El Camino and Truxel Road. The suspect vehicle — a white sedan with three occupants on board — refused to stop and began circling through South Natomas neighborhoods. Officers attempted to deploy spike strips at Aaron and West El Camino as the vehicle looped through the area repeatedly, running red lights and weaving between lanes at speeds reaching 60 mph northbound on Truxel Road.
The vehicle eventually made its way onto San Juan Road before turning back southbound on Truxel. En route to the scene, scanner traffic indicated the pursuit was active and moving fast. As Lance The PI News arrived, the suspect vehicle stopped at the CVS parking lot on West El Camino, where two occupants bailed from the car. One was taken into custody at the scene.

The suspect vehicle then continued through the South Natomas neighborhood as officers established a perimeter. A foot bail was reported in the Pebblewood area, with scanner traffic placing the suspect running through backyards near Pebblestone and Woodbridge Parkway. K9 units were deployed and officers locked down a containment zone stretching toward Woodland Oaks Way and Red Hawk Road.
As Lance The PI News was traveling northbound on Truxel Road approaching the South Natomas Community Center, officers suddenly sprinted across the street in pursuit of the driver. The chase ended right there — officers tackled the suspect in the Natomas Community Center parking lot and took him into custody. The entire foot chase and takedown were captured on camera.

Scanner traffic confirmed both the driver and the passenger were detained. A Sacramento Police helicopter was overhead during the perimeter operation. The incident involved felony evading charges and multiple Sacramento PD units across South Natomas.
