On the evening of April 18, 2025, Sacramento Police were dispatched to a felony assault near Natoma Street and Indiana Avenue after a caller reported being struck with a pipe and stayed on the line with 911. I monitored the call on the scanner and responded to the scene. When I arrived it was dark, officers were already on scene, a police helicopter was circling overhead, and Sacramento Fire had also been called out. The helicopter crew located a suspect walking northbound on East Levee Road while the injured victim was found hidden in a tent near the water, unable to move. Fire crews carried him down the levee on a stretcher. This is the kind of response that never makes the evening news but happens regularly in Old North Sacramento and Lance The PI News is there to cover it live as it unfolds.
